From Homeland to Hometown
Long-term moving-image and research initiative
Role:
Cultural Producer · Filmmaker · Artist
From Homeland to Hometown is a long-term, artist-led initiative exploring migration, memory, and belonging through archival research and oral history.
Rooted in historical documents, family archives, and first-person narratives, the project translates research into experimental moving-image works, exhibitions, and public presentations. Rather than a single film or exhibition, From Homeland to Hometown unfolds over time across multiple formats, allowing each work to respond to place, collaboration, and evolving research.
The initiative serves as the conceptual framework for related projects including video art, touring exhibitions, and oral history-based films, and reflects an ongoing practice situated at the intersection of art, film, and public humanities.
Projects developed under this initiative include Roots Unveiled, Resonance, and ongoing oral history works.
